It all started in 1994 when one of our founders, identified the need for a quality keel protector to guard her families boat. Like other boating enthusiasts, she was tired of enjoying a great outing or catching the perfect bass only to find she had unknowingly caused thousands of dollars of damage to her boat’s hull while out on the water.
She knew there had to be a better way. None of the products on the market at the time provided the quality she thought was necessary in order to protect her boat. So since Day One of Gator Guards inception, Sue and her team have worked tirelessly to research, develop and bring the best protective technologies and products to the marine industry. The result of their innovative approach and passion for all things marine can be seen in multiple product lines, including, KeelShield®, BowShield®, SkegShield®, GatorSkinz®and Hitch Guard.

As part of our celebration of two decades of business, we wanted to bring the gator to the fore front, and renamed our company from SS Marine products to Gator Guards. We look forward to working with you, guarding your watercraft, and ensuring your piece of mind.
